About Us

How they met:
Allison and Alex went to Eagan High School together. They did not meet until Alex was a Senior and Allison was a Junior, on the National Art Honor Society trip to Chicago. They became friends, and decided to begin dating after Alex's graduation open house party. They had only dated for a month before Alex went off to school at Bemidji State University. What awful timing... But Alex and Allison both ended up enjoying the independence that came with attending different schools and making new friends, even though the four hour distance was very difficult at times.  When Allison graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and Alex had obtained two Bachelor's degrees, they were finally able to be together and moved into an apartment in Minneapolis in 2008!

How Alex proposed:
Allison and Alex love to travel and have been on lots of trips and vacations together over the years (in addition to several times camping, they have also taken vacations to Stillwater, Duluth, Red Wing, Chicago, Boston, a road trip all the way to Colorado, and California). But when they planned a trip down the California coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles, Allison had no idea that Alex was planning to propose. Alex kept the ring in his pocket for several days in San Francisco while he waited for a photo booth to appear. Allison loves to take photo booth pictures (who doesn't?), and Alex knew that she would find one for him eventually. Plus, Alex doesn't have the best memory, so he wanted a picture somehow to remember the occasion. Then he found the Musee Mecanique on the Fisherman's Wharf, and knew that there was bound to be one there. Low and behold, after walking in to the Museum, Allison immediately found the photo booth and said "LOOK A PHOTO BOOTH, LET'S DO IT!" Alex proposed in between the camera flashes and it made for an amazing series of pictures. They are priceless.

How we want to spend our big day:
We don't want the typical over-the-top event for our wedding, but an intimate laid back picnic-style day with our closest family and friends. We want to spend the day outdoors doing what we love most, and to be able to talk with everyone throughout the evening.  And most of all, we want to be married.
